Crown of Sunshine was created by Ashley Toole, a young African American woman from South Jersey who has had difficulty with hair since a young girl. She ventured in every type of hair style and treatment that you could image. From the hot combs touching her edges to a perm touching her scalp. It wasn't until 2016 when her hair fell out that her life would change forever. At that moment, natural hair became her lifestyle.

Curls became a part of Ashley's life and she never looked back. She became so indulged in finding the perfect products to maintain her kinks and coils. She made sure to nurture it thoroughly and precisely. The transitioning stage was a challenge and then some. From there, maintaining her crown became therapeutic to her over the years. From pre-shampoos, hot oil treatments, deep conditioners, masks, to protein treatments, Ashley reveled in the process of maintaining her crown.

As she grew older, she realized her skin had become sensitive and not all skincare products were made for her. She started forming dark spots and skin abrasions due to having extremely dry skin. She then began to wonder, "what if I made products that are perfect for both my skin AND hair?" A 2-in-1 combo that would save time and money. That's when the inkling of 'Crown of Sunshine' first shined itself on the young CEO.
